This Women’s History Month, we’re celebrating the 2025 International Women’s Day theme, #AccelerateAction, by spotlighting the power of women to inspire and lead change. We’re proud to support the next generation of leaders by giving our young talent on the team the opportunity to take the reins on this week’s content.
English Literature student Kashvi Cox has bold dreams to find a career in feature writing. So, throughout the week, she will share five insightful pieces - one each day - focused on how women are advancing equity, innovation, and progress across industries. This project reflects our commitment to fostering growth, creativity, and leadership at every level.
Follow along as we explore her powerful stories and celebrate the actions that are shaping a brighter, more inclusive future. Let’s accelerate action together!..
___________
There are many resources out there to help us accelerate action towards gender parity in the workplace but knowing where to start can be hard.
With the right resources, we can help women grow and thrive in their careers. It is therefore essential that both companies and individuals know where to look.
Change can start at all levels, from individuals engaging in online courses to develop new skills to large organisations who provide networking and mentorship opportunities.
By using the resources out there we can build a future where women have the same chances as men in the workplace, and we can create supportive environments to help them accelerate their careers.
Lean In
Lean In are official partners with International Women’s Day, and they provide free resources to help organisations to support women in the workplace. They have two main programmes for this: Lean In Circles and Lean In Networks.
Lean In Circles are described as part leadership workshop, part support network. These ‘circles’ are made up of 8 to 12 people and offer members the chance to learn new skills, network, and pursue their goals as part of a supportive community.
Lean In actively encourage people to start their own ‘circle’ by offering a free 60-minute online session to learn more about getting started and leading. More than 100,000 community members in 183 countries have started a Circle.
The Latina Coalition of Silicon Valley (LCSV) is a non-profit organisation with its own Lean In Circle. The meetings are described as a space where women can be ‘unapologetically ambitious’ and the project’s ultimate aim is to help women achieve their full potential.
At the heart of the LCSV ‘circle’ is a mentorship programme for young women. This programme gives women the chance to attend professional development seminars and receive guidance to help them accelerate their careers. There are many other ‘circles’ around the world just like this one and you could be part of starting one too.

Lean In Networks are Lean In Circles on a wider scale. They create a community of women with whom members can expand their connections by attending local events like speaker series and workshops.
There are Lean In Networks all across the globe, from the Seattle to Singapore. The Lean In Network in London has over 2000 members and is made up of 9 different ‘circles’ including the Lean In Marketing Circle and Women in Banking and Finance.
Joining one of these Networks is a great way for women to take initiative and boost their careers in a supportive environment.
There are many other resources to explore on the Lean In website, including a programme called ‘50 Ways to Fight Bias’, which is designed to support companies create a workspace where all women feel included and valued.
LinkedIn have its own learning platform designed to support both individuals and companies. The courses they offer range from generic ones on content creation and strategic thinking, to gender specific courses to help women accelerate their careers. These include Leadership Strategies for Women and Own It: The Power of Women at Work.
The fact these courses are all online makes them easily accessible and something that can be fitted in around family commitments and work deadlines. They are also a great thing for companies to invest in.
By doing so, they are giving all their employees equal access to programmes where they can develop their skills in a relaxed and non-pressured environment.

There are a multitude of resources out there to help women accelerate their careers, but we must work together to spread the word. By engaging in online courses, joining Lean In communities, and developing leadership skills, anyone can be part of the movement towards change. This change starts today, and it starts with you.
